Press Release: Youth Collective Announce Launch of International Education Website

A collaboration between The NO Collective and CSSN Azerbaijan (Council on State Support to NGOs under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), this website will be the first of its kind in the UK, aiming to raise awareness about Azerbaijan, and educate young people in an open conversation across the two diverse countries.

The ‘In Azerbaijan’ Website launches at The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Kensington next month to a plethora of educators and community representatives. The website aims to pave the way to a better communication between Azerbaijan and the UK in the future; to make this process sustainable, young minds from both countries have been at the forefront of the creation.

The website will offer a portal of information spanning from ancient history in the Caucasus to contemporary architecture of the modern day Baku, covering key areas of economics, politics, history, art & culture, society, environment, and how to visit Azerbaijan; complementarily, the ‘In Our Opinion’ page will showcase a subject of conversation each month for young writers from London’s NO Collective and Baku’s AEGEE to give a platform to the everyday lives of both countries.

“International collaborative projects such as these are so valuable in creating a better world to live in for our young people. To celebrate diversity and understand what it means to be a citizen of the world are integral; not just for political ties but for our individual understandings of how to evolve in, and embrace ,an ever- changing world.”
Natalie Bays, Co-founder of The NO Collective

“On preparatory researching before our first trip to Azerbaijan it was clear at how important a website like this was in the UK. With only one ‘lonely planet’ publication about the whole of the Caucasus region to be found, our primary research became more than indulging in a beautiful culture of people - but more of a quest to bring home information of the unknown” Jenny Tengström, Researcher, The NO Collective

Aimed at a target audience of primary to higher education, the site will also be a useful tool for educators, not only as a great information source, but also for free downloadable resources to implement in lessons. Produced by Co-Founder and resident teacher Josef Easeman, the resources aim to deviate from the regular topics learned at school whilst maintaining the integrity of curriculum outcomes. The NO Collective will be adding resources and updating the portal throughout next year to add as much detail as possible.
