On Wednesday the 4th of May I had the pleasure of attending The Queens Theatre's production of T he Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13¾. I would like to preface this review by saying that as a 22 ¼ year old, I came into this show knowing next to nothing about the source material, yet this didn't negatively impact my experience at all. Indeed, The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13¾ is a musical that is fun for all generations, even if you're a bit too young to have seen the original series (or to have been alive in the 80's). The musical was originally written by Jake Brunger with music and lyrics by Pippa Cleary. Whilst the show doesn't necessarily have a strictly linear plot and the story doesn't have the highest of stakes, its simplicity adds to the charm of the production.
